D4D, and our Head Up and Starworks project feature in a report published in February by the Department of Health and Social Care.

The report covers assistive technology research and development work to improve equipment for disabled and older people for 2017 to 2018.

This report provides information about the wide range of government-funded projects supporting the development, introduction and evaluation of assistive technology. It provides a broad overview of the current evidence base. To understand what some of this research means, the NIHR Dissemination Centre will shortly produce a review highlighting recent evidence on assistive technology to support older people’s independent living. It will showcase research projects on remote monitoring of frail older people and on adaptations to the home. The review will also explore the ways in which technology is used and delivered in everyday life.
