NIHR Leeds In-vitro Diagnostics Co-operative MSK Unmet Clinical Needs Workshop

Are you a healthcare professional, patient or researcher interested in contributing to future research in musculoskeletal conditions?
The Yorkshire & Humber AHSN and the NIHR Leeds In-vitro Diagnostics Co-operative are inviting consultants, GPs, physiotherapists, researchers and patients to attend a workshop which will explore unmet needs in musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions.
The workshop will be chaired by Dr Francesco Del Galdo, Consultant Rheumatologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Head of the Schleroderma Programme at the NIHR Leeds Biomedical Research Centre. We will explore unmet needs in the treatment and management of MSK conditions to allow people to stay in work and retain independence, and how identified needs can be incorporated into future research. The meeting will focus on discussions around four core themes:
- Back pain;
- Raynaud’s Disease;
- Dermatology;
- Inflammatory Arthritis.
It is intended that by highlighting the current limitations in these areas the workshop will be able to explore how further research might address these gaps.
The objectives for the workshop are:
- Build an articulated and prioritised listing of unmet clinical needs within MSK.
- Develop novel research ideas
- Link emerging ideas and research activities to funding calls
- Create partnerships between healthcare professionals, patients and researchers.
Hosted by the Yorkshire & Humber AHSN and the NIHR Leeds In-vitro Diagnostics Co-operative, the event will take place at the Thackray Medical Museum, Leeds between 5pm and 8pm on Tuesday 25th June.
Places are limited and prior registration is essential. There will be a networking buffet on arrival.
