Opportunity to join the first Neurocare Know How Workshop – 10th May
On Friday 10th May, Devices for Dignity in partnership with University of Sheffield, Optical Jukebox and Ammba, will be hosting the first of three co-design workshops as part of the Neurocare KnowHow project, funded by Neurocare, Sheffield Hospital’s Charity.
The Neurocare KnowHow project is seeking to develop online learning tools to enable professional carers to support people with long term neurological conditions with their daily living activities. This is an opportunity to be part of co-designing new technology and new ways of learning.
The workshop is for:
- People with long term neurological conditions and their families
- Care staff employed by nursing homes, hospices and care agencies
- Employers of care staff
- Organisations who support training for paid carers
The workshop aims are to:
- To ensure the development of the new training tool is rooted in the needs of people living with long term neurological conditions
- Identify the priorities for skills development for paid carers of people with long term neurological conditions
- Learn more about how paid carers currently take part in training
- Understand more about how paid carers prefer to learn or attend training
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Travel expenses & participation costs will be reimbursed.
The workshop starts at 10am for people with long term neurological conditions and their families to share their experiences and opinions, with professional carers invited to join the workshop from 12.30pm to have lunch together, hear about the outcomes of the morning session, and share their experiences and ideas.
