The Sheffield Test Bed is developing an ‘Intelligence Centre’ to integrate patient data from all health and social care partners and enable healthcare professionals to deliver proactive healthcare.

D4D is an affiliated partner organisation with the Sheffield Test Bed, also known as the Perfect Patient Pathway (PPP). The purpose of the Test Bed is to modernise how the NHS delivers care by creating new collaborative partnerships between the NHS and industry.

The Intelligence Centre will aggregate data from a range of sources to create one data set. Predictive analytics will make it possible to create profiles of the patients who are most at risk of becoming unwell or requiring hospital admission, such that steps can be taken to support people before their healthcare needs escalate further.

A small pilot trial has demonstrated that the IT systems can work together, and a larger pilot trial using encrypted patient data will take place shortly. You can read the full article in the PPP newsletter through their website, here.
