Neurocare KnowHow awarded Ufi VocTech Seed 2020 funding

Neurocare KnowHow – a collaboration between NIHR Devices for Dignity, SiTRAN (University of Sheffield), Optical Jukebox, and Ammba Digital Ltd – has been awarded funding and specialist mentoring as one of the successful organisations in the Ufi VocTech Trust VocTech Seed 2020 project cohort.

The funding will support co-design and development of a novel online learning platform for carers to develop specialist skills and knowledge about caring for people living with neurological conditions, such as MND, MS and Parkinson’s.

Designed in collaboration with carers and people living with neurological conditions, this learning resource will support training needs for care organisations, enabling care workers to increase their knowledge base, build their confidence and competence, and enable the delivery of high quality person-centred care.

Jane Holmes (Project Account Manager and Cohort Manager for VocTech Seed 2020) said:

I’ve seen a lot of the VocTech Seed projects we’ve supported in the past develop into very successful products, models and businesses and achieve great success. I’m looking forward to working with this project which has the potential to make a real difference to those caring for people living with neurological conditions.”

The Neurocare KnowHow team would like to hear from people living with progressive neurological conditions, and their Personal Assistants, who are interested in participating in co-design, filming and testing the learning resource between autumn 2020 and summer 2021.
